Joinery
Joiners are skilled craftspeople who use specialised machinery to design, make, assemble and fit doors, windows, kitchen/bathroom cabinetry, stairs and other built-in or fixed components for residential, commercial and industrial buildings.
Joiners differ from carpenters in that they work in finer detail to cut and fit joints into wood without using nails. Generally, joiners work in workshops, however they sometimes work on-site when fitting the finished pieces.
By studying joinery you’ll develop the knowledge, practical skills and attention to detail needed to gain a firm foothold in the industry. You’ll learn joinery theory and techniques from expert tutors and get plenty of opportunity to practice your new skills with hands-on tasks and projects.
