OPSITARA 2021 Research Conference

OPSITARA is the annual research conference for Otago Polytechnic, Southern Institute of Technology and Ara Institute of Canterbury. In 2021, the conference will be held at Ara Institute of Canterbury.

Colleagues from all three institutes are invited to participate. Abstracts will be accepted for 15-minute papers, five-minute research ‘bite’ presentations and poster presentations. Research can be co-authored with students, but the lead researcher and presenter must be a staff member.

Abstracts will be peer reviewed. You can submit more than one abstract but only one presentation per presenting author will be accepted in each category (meaning you could present a five-minute presentation, a 15-minute presentation and a poster, but not two 15-minute presentations). Following the symposium, abstracts will be published with presenters’ biographical information.

Abstracts must include a title, authorship, affiliations and key words. Maximum word length for the abstract body (excluding references) is 250 words.

Abstracts must also outline:

  • Research aim/question
  • Research design/methodology
  • Ethics approval for the research (if required)
  • Findings or results
  • Implications for our teaching, industry and/or communities

If you would like to submit an abstract, please do so by 27 August 2021. The OPSITARA 2021 conference proceedings will be published so this is a great opportunity to disseminate your research and have a research output.
